Place plants strategically under T5s so that tall colas don’t burn!

The lights can be moved closer to the top of this Kush unless vertical growth isn’t finished yet.

Organize by size to maximize light exposure for plants growing at different rates. This Pandora needs to be raised toward the lights to receive the same lumens as the taller Master Kush.

Take the time to move plants around under the lights on a regular basis. You will be rewarded with more even growth and avoid stretching that will reduce yields.

In the veg room today I split the developing plants into separate pans. The first is comprised of the Pandora and the larger two Kushes. The second is the runt Kush plus the three Tangerine Dreams.

Why split them up? The rationale is simple: keeping them in the same pans (and therefore at the same distance from the lights) would risk either burns for the former group or reduced light exposure for the latter. I solve the problem by removing two boards from under the first group of plants and placing the boards under the second, smaller group.

Note that there is about a two-inch disparity in height between the two groups now but that they are sitting equally close to the lights. There is another visible difference between the two groups: the smaller ones remain quite wet and I again need to scrap the soil to remove green moss. The taller group is dry and in fact requires a small watering. This is a result of different growth rates. Hopefully, now that they are up close to the lights, the smaller ones will catch up. This could, however, also be a function of the genetics of each strain. With the exception of the Kush made runty by the emergency topping, the other three are Tangerines. It could be that this strain grows slower, or smaller, than the Master Kush and Pandora. Given that this is my first attempt with this strain, I will journal my observations of these plants more diligently than I typically do with the Kush.
